The question we all ask ourselves everytime we walk into the liquor store, which vodka is going to be the best for me? We all know you could grab any vodka off the shelf and leave it at that but then again why would you. Individual taste will play a huge role but for the most part, one is better than the other.
The number one seller in the US Smirnoff vodka is smooth and filtered more times then it probably needs to be. With its triple distilled prosses you get a bit more of a bite and flavor. A solid go-to for any vodka-based mixed drink. For those of you that pay attention Smirnoff just won another double gold for its No. 21 vodka. The main problem people have with this is that the water used comes from many different sources. However, with the water being filtered ten times you could probably use water from your toilet and still make excellent vodka. Now one can not talk about Smirnoff without mentioning there 20+ flavored vodkas, all of which make great mixed drinks. Overall Smirnoff is a great choice for anyone looking to make a cocktail.
Made in Sweden this smooth vodka is a top seller in the US. As with any grain-based vodka, the flavor is smooth and contains a bit of a bite. Rich, full-bodied and clean makes it better vodka for shots. Fun fact: the bottle is inspired by a medieval medicine bottle, kinda cool. One big selling feature for Absolut is the natural ingredients they use. Overall buy this if you want to take shots!
In conclusion: Both are an excellent choice but buy Smirnoff if you are making cocktails and Absolut for Shots!
