I have always found books to be a great way to learn, plus they make it easy to look up information. If you’re looking to take your cocktail knowledge to the next level give one of these a read. All three of these cocktail books are great for gaining a better understanding of mixology. Alternatively, check out the Mixology section here at Vodka For Breakfast for more great tips and tricks on how to perfect any cocktail.
1) Beginners: “The Art Of The Bar”
This book does a great job of going over the basics of how to mix drinks. I would recommend this to anyone looking to start learning about the art of making cocktails. A quick read packed full of information makes this book a great tool to keep near for quick reference.
2) Advanced techniques: “Liquid Intelligence”
Unlike The Art of the Bar, this book goes much further into the science of mixed drinks. A great read for anyone looking to really understand why we do things the way we do. However, it is not too advanced that the novices mixologist cant keep up. It also has a few cool tricks every bartender should know.
3) History of cocktails: “A Proper Drink”
This one is less about learning how to make cocktails but the history behind them. A fun read for anyone interested in where drinks come from and how cocktail culture evolved into what it is today.
Let us know what you think of these cocktail books and if there are any books you would recommend. As always a big thanks to www.cocktailchemistrylab.com
