Looking to add some fun new drinks to your arsenal of cocktails? Or maybe, just want to impress someone with a delicious drink they have never heard of? I have spent a lot of time at bars trying to find the best cocktails- let’s just call it research- and through these efforts, I have found three Unique Cocktails you must try before you order yet another Cosmo or Moscow mule.
The French 75
This is a great party drink. Light but still full of flavor. A must try for anyone who likes martinis or mimosas. Like most cocktails that involve champagne, this is best served cold.
- 1 lemon
- 1 ½ ounces gin
- ¾ ounce lemon juice (Hint you can get this from the Lemon… you’re welcome)
- ½ ounce simple syrup
- 2 ounces Brut champagne
Start by slicing the lemon peel in long thin spirals. You can wrap them around a finger to help them curl. Next, in a cocktail shaker combine gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and ice. Shake (How to Shake a Cocktail). Strain into a chilled glass, preferably a champagne flute. Top with your Brut champagne and enjoy.
A great drink for sitting by a fire- sweet and sure to keep you warm. If you are not a bourbon fan feel free to substitute whiskey.
- 1 ounce bourbon
- ½ ounce honey
- 1 ounce lemon juice
- ¼ cup hot water.
Mix in a mug and stir until honey is melted. It really is that simple.
You may not be able to just whip this one up with what you keep in stock at your home bar but its well worth the investment!
- 2 ½ ounce sweet-tea Firefly vodka
- 1 ounce vodka
- 1 ounce amaretto
- 8 ounces lemonade
Mix together in a large glass with ice. Stir and serve. Nothing to it!
Whether you try all three or sip on just one, let us know what you think of these unique Cocktails.
